timeline-arrowLinear Integration

Birdie’s Linear integration lets your team send screen recordings directly to Linear, so bugs and product issues can be reported with all the right context in a few clicks.

What it does

With the Linear integration, Birdie users can:

  • create a new Linear issue from a recording

  • add a comment to an existing Linear issue

  • choose the target team and project

  • optionally add priority, labels, status, and milestone

  • include the Birdie recording link and context in the issue

This makes it easier to turn customer recordings into actionable bug reports for engineering and product teams.

How it works

A Birdie admin connects Linear once for the whole workspace.

After that, anyone in the Birdie workspace with access to the feature can use Send to Linear from a recording.

This means individual users do not need to connect their own Linear account to create issues from Birdie.

How to connect Linear

  1. Open your Birdie workspace settings.

  2. Go to the Integrations section.

  3. Click Connect Linear.

  4. Sign in to Linear and approve the installation.

Once connected, Birdie will be able to send issues and comments to your Linear workspace.

How to create a new issue

  1. Open a recording in Birdie.

  2. Click Send to Linear.

  3. Choose Create new issue.

  4. Fill in the issue details:

    • Team

    • Project

    • Title

    • Description

    • Optional fields such as priority, labels, status, or milestone

  5. Submit the form.

Birdie will create the issue in Linear and include the recording context.

How to add to an existing issue

  1. Open a recording in Birdie.

  2. Click Send to Linear.

  3. Search and select an existing issue.

  4. Add your comment.

  5. Submit.

Birdie will post the recording context as a comment on the selected issue.

What is included in the Linear issue

Depending on how your team uses the integration, Birdie can include:

  • a link to the recording

  • the recording title

  • the user’s message or description

  • Context data (browser, date)

  • Link to the Birdie Player

  • Labels or project information selected in the form

Disconnecting Linear

If you want to fully revoke Birdie’s access in Linear, open Linear Settings → Security & Access → Authorized applications and revoke Birdie there.

Notes

  • A Birdie admin must connect Linear before other users can use the integration.

  • Some advanced Linear options may depend on your workspace configuration and permissions.

  • If the integration is revoked from Linear, Birdie will automatically detect that and mark the connection as disconnected.
