# Restrict recordings to specific members

## Restrict recordings to specific teammates

Some recordings should not be open to everyone in your workspace. Put them in a private folder and only the people you add can open them.

{% hint style="info" %}
This controls access inside your team. To control whether people outside your workspace can open a recording, see [Recordings Privacy Settings](/birdie-docs/security/recordings-privacy-settings.md).
{% endhint %}

### 1. Create a private folder

Create a folder, set it to private, and add only the people who should be able to open these recordings. [See Private folders](/birdie-docs/security/restrict-recordings-to-specific-members/private-folders.md).

### 2. Get the recordings into it

Move them in by hand from your library, or [create a routing rule for folders](/birdie-docs/security/restrict-recordings-to-specific-members/routing-rules-for-folders.md) that sends matching recordings there automatically.
