# Private folders

Folders are visible to everyone on your team by default. In a private folder, only the people you add can open the recordings inside.

This covers every recording in your workspace, both the ones customers send you and the ones your team records itself.

### Create one

1. Go to your [folder settings](https://app.birdie.so/settings).
2. Create a folder and name it.
3. Set its visibility to **Private**.
4. Add the people who should have access.

### Remove access

Remove a person from the folder and their access ends immediately, including for recordings added before they were removed.
