# Installation

**Requirement:** You need to be an Intercom admin

1. Install Birdie from [Intercom Marketplace →](https://www.intercom.com/app-store/?app_package_code=zest-app)
2. Once installed, <mark style="color:green;">`Connect`</mark> Birdie app to your Birdie workspace:

   * if you **don't** have a Birdie account yet, use your professional email
   * if you **already** have a Birdie account, use the same email address. &#x20;

   *(Note: If logged into Birdie workspace, skip step 2)*

### Add Birdie to your sidebar

Be sure to add Birdie to your sidebar. To do so, go to your Intercom inbox → select "edit app," → pin Birdie.

If you are using Birdie with Intercom, Birdie will override the background color with the Intercom background color to ensure a seamless integration. This way, customers will feel that Birdie is a natural part of the Intercom flow.
